While enjoying "Superstition," the first video from Christy & Emily's album of the same name, due from UK imprint Big Print November 17th, one is reminded of Animal Collective's "Who Could Win a Rabbit" or St. Vincent's "Jesus Saves, I Spend". Both rely on mores and imagery we find comforting--perhaps warming--and yet both destroy it with visuals of blood, gore, and unpredictability.
So goes Christy & Emily's visual jaunt. Couple with the dirge-like speed and monochromatic tones of "Superstition," then the blood really boils from anxiety and fear.
